What does a bathroom renovation cost?

It depends on the size of the room and the fixtures and finishes you choose. These are full renovations built to last, not budget refreshes, so the investment reflects that. Your quote is fixed, it covers labour and materials together, and the onsite quote itself costs you nothing.

How long does a bathroom renovation take in Brisbane?

A standard bathroom renovation takes around three weeks from start to finish, working Monday to Friday. That covers the full process: demolition and strip-out on the front end, then waterproofing, tiling, plumbing, electrical, and installation of all your fixtures and fittings through the middle weeks, and a final clean-up so the space is ready to use when we hand it back to you.

Three weeks is a realistic timeframe for a properly done job. We do not rush through waterproofing or tiling to shave a few days off the schedule, because that is exactly where problems show up six months later. We will confirm the timeline during your quote and keep you updated throughout the build so you always know where things are at.

What is involved in a full bathroom strip-out?

A full strip-out means everything comes out. Tiles, floor coverings, vanity, toilet, bath, shower screen, and in many cases the wall linings behind them too. We do this when waterproofing has failed, when the layout needs to change, or when there are too many layers of old work hiding problems underneath. It sounds like a big job because it is, but it also means we can start fresh and do everything properly from the ground up with no shortcuts buried behind the walls.

Do I need council approval for a bathroom renovation in Brisbane?

In most cases, no. Standard bathroom renovations that do not involve structural changes or moving walls generally do not require council approval in Brisbane. However if you are adding a bathroom to a space that has never had one, or making changes that affect the structure of the home, that is something we will flag during the quote and advise you on before any work starts. We have been doing this since 2005 and we know what needs sign-off and what does not.

Can you add a bathroom to a room that has never had one before?

Absolutely. We have converted spare bedrooms, walk-in robes, and underutilised storage areas into fully functioning bathrooms. This is a great way to add more value and comfort to a home. It requires new drain runs, waterproofing from scratch, and careful planning around where plumbing can realistically go, but it is very achievable. These are some of our favourite projects because there is no old work to pull apart and fight against, just a blank room to build something great in from the beginning. We can assess on site and discuss the options and layout that help achieve your goal of an additional bathroom to your house.

Do we need to move out during the bathroom renovation?

For most standard bathroom renovations, you do not need to move out. If you have a second bathroom in the home you can use while the work is happening, day to day life carries on pretty normally. If you only have one bathroom, it is worth having a conversation with us before the job starts so we can plan the schedule in a way that minimises the time you are without a working bathroom. Some of our customers hire a portaloo for the duration of the job, which is a practical and affordable solution that a lot of people do not think of straight away.

We are used to working in occupied homes and we treat your property with respect throughout the process. Tools and materials are kept tidy, the work area is secured at the end of each day, and we do not leave your home in a state that makes it hard to live in over the three weeks we are there.
